Alastair Furnival

Alastair Furnival - Associate

Alastair Furnival has two decades of experience in public policy development and implementation. He has worked at the highest level within Australian State and Federal Governments, as well as in external advisory roles to both domestic and foreign Government agencies, as well as to corporates, industry groups, and not-for-profits. Alastair's focal interest economically is in the development of alternative finance solutions for social policy, including health, ageing, education and housing policy. He has undertaken substantial work on the intersection of public and private insurance schemes, and the potential to satisfy public policy targets through private finance. Alastair has previously worked as a Vice-President within a global economic consulting practice, and is currently Chairman of the policy and communications firm Australian Public Affairs.
Brian Chase

Brian Chase - Associate

Brian Chase specializes in private investment in infrastructure industries. Brian has advised government agencies looking to encourage private investment in publicly-owned infrastructure, and private investors searching for sound infrastructure investments. Brian was a Vice President at The Carlyle Group, a global private equity firm, where he focused on infrastructure investment opportunities. He has assessed financing needs and options for large surface transportation projects in U.S. states including Texas, Florida, Indiana, California, Georgia, North Carolina, Delaware and Maryland, and he recently advised the Virginia Department of Transportation on its $611 million re-financing of the Pocahontas Parkway concession project.  Brian has also provided advice to the U.S. Department of Transportation on the policy issues associated with public-private partnerships. Brian has worked internationally on infrastructure investment projects in Asia, Latin America and in Central and Eastern Europe.
Denzel Hankinson

Denzel Hankinson - Associate

Denzel has worked extensively on infrastructure regulatory projects in the United States, Africa, Central and Southeast Asia, and Latin America. He specializes in the design and implementation of regulatory regimes and bodies, and in working with infrastructure regulators on issues of pricing, quality of service, and institutional development. Denzel began his career in consulting with National Economic Research Associates as a member of World Bank and Dfid teams providing support to newly created electricity regulatory commissions in the Indian states of Orissa, Haryana, and Andhra Pradesh. In the United States, Denzel has worked on a number of arbitrations, complex litigations and regulatory proceedings dealing with issues of market power, transmission access and pricing policies, stranded cost recovery, and power marketing and trading.
Hon. Max Bradford

Hon. Max Bradford - Associate

Max has over 30 years experience in public and private sector change management in New Zealand and internationally. In the 1990s, he was a senior Cabinet minister in the New Zealand Government, holding the Cabinet portfolios of energy, enterprise and commerce, and business development. Max's extensive international experience includes contributing to ILO Technical Assistance programs in the Philippines and Thailand, representation at ILO meetings in Geneva, economic advice to the Governments of Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Finland, developing defence relationships between New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and Malaysia, and chairing meetings of the Asia Pacific Economic Council.
